I matched with Brittney Decker on Tinder and we hit it off, so we planned a date to go to a Dodger game. She told me that a coworker could get us tickets in a suite. She asked if I could cover her ticket and she would pay me back. She was flirtatious and pushed me to buy tickets right away.
I hesitated, but eventually sent $460 to her via Apple Cash. When I asked for my ticket, she told me we would be on a list at the box office. When it came time to go to the game she told me she was sick and was unable to attend. I never received a mobile ticket or any confirmation I could check. After that, she unmatched me on Tinder and when she did respond to my text messages asking about the game or getting my money back, she got angry like she was the one that sent $460 to me and couldn’t get it back. She told me that we would reschedule when she was better. When I asked her if she would just give me my money back and we could go our separate ways, she told me that she lost her job and was unable to pay me. I haven’t gotten tickets or a refund and despite being cordial, she has stopped responding.
I can’t help but think i was taken advantage of by someone who is manipulative and had other plans in mind than to actually go on a date.
I wanted to share my story so this doesn’t happen to anyone else.
